Fishermen from the South East have told an EU chief in Brussels that they are on the edge of survival. Hastings fishermen met with the Fisheries Commissioner, Maria Damanaki, yesterday to explain the situation for inshore coastal fishing and the communities that depend on them. Paul Joy from Hastings Fishermen's Protection Society says much of their frustration stems from the fact that the fish are there, but they are not allowed to catch them.
