Meat from cloned animals may be getting into the food chain, fears Scottish Conservative, Struan Stevenson. The European Parliament has called for a ban on all meat not guaranteed to be clone-free. But Struan Stevenson thinks that imports from countries including the USA and Argentina won’t be able to make that guarantee because they have no way of checking. But he says EU officials will have to find a way round the problem or risk igniting an international trade war. |
