Title:
We could be eating “dolly the sheep lamb chops”, fears MEP (1 of 3)

Of interest to:

Script details:
A Scottish MEP says we could unwittingly be eating meat from cloned animals. In many countries outside Europe – where much of our meat comes from – there are no restrictions on selling clones. Now the EU parliament says it wants a ban on the sale of all meat which could come from a cloned animal or a direct descendant. The meat isn’t known to be dangerous to eat, but MEPs say the animals are too often born with fatal illnesses and malformations. Conservative, Struan Stevenson, says because there are no checks, imported cloned meat may already be on the market.
